In a significant collaborative effort to tackle food insecurity in South Florida, regional Kia dealerships have joined forces with local sports powerhouses and a prominent family enterprise to provide a substantial donation to the relief organization Feeding South Florida.

The combined contributions from the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, JM Family Enterprises, and other community members have culminated in a $380,000 fund aimed at combating hunger and supporting those in need.

Feeding South Florida, an organization dedicated to ensuring accessible nutrition, will use these funds to continue their mission amidst a backdrop of challenges such as the pandemic's lasting impact, and the region's severe weather occurrences.

According to a WSVN report, Rita Chase, president and CEO of Rick Case Automotive Group, emphasized community involvement, saying, "If you’re interested in coming here and volunteering, packing a box, getting it ready for seniors, and getting it ready for families, please join in and come and pack this food and come and organize it for the community."

This philanthropic initiative is part of the "Accelerate the Good" program, whereby each participant plays a crucial role.

The Micky & Madeleine Arison Family Foundation, for example, has partnered with the South Florida Kia Dealers, reinforcing the community's resilience through donations and volunteerism.

A news release from Feeding South Florida, highlighted by CBS12, indicates that over 700,000 individuals are currently facing food insecurity across the four-county area.

The collected funds are fundamental for Feeding South Florida's mission to fight this hunger crisis.

The donation will support immediate food services as well as poverty relief efforts, ensuring that those without homes also receive meals and additional necessities for their well-being. As detailed by CBS12, Paco Velez, President and CEO of Feeding South Florida, stated, "We believe in addressing immediate hunger while also fostering resilience, helping families recover and rebuild in the aftermath of disasters."
