Rick Case Automotive Group celebrated a successful tobacco-free policy-change during the “Great American Smokeout” event at Rick Case Kia recently with Rita addressing the company about the tobacco-free policy-change. Attendees included Sunrise City Officials and Police Department staff along with company representatives from, American Heart Association, Schiller Americas, NSU, City Furniture, United Healthcare, La Croix, USI, MetLife and Lincoln Financial Group. Rick Case celebrated their successful tobacco-free policy-change made on October 1st and is the first automotive group in Florida and Georgia to make it inclusive of customers and staff. The event took place on the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout - a day that provides an opportunity for individuals, community groups, businesses, healthcare providers, and others to encourage people to use the date to make a plan to quit, or plan in advance and initiate a smoking cessation plan on the day of the event. Rick Case Automotive Group has joined community organizations to implement tobacco-free policy-changes throughout all locations. “This is a day to celebrate collaborative achievements as we recognize smoking is the No.1 cause of preventable death and illness in the United States,” says Rita. According to the CDC, Smoking costs the United States hundreds of billions of dollars each year and each day about 1,600 youth try their first cigarette. This policy-change is a huge win in the community.
